Canopy & Canyoning Adventures

The main attraction here is a system of connected suspension bridges strung through the forest canopy, crisscrossing a deep ravine. There are eight bridges; the longest is 90m (295 ft.) across. There's also a small network of trails and some great swimming holes.

Rincon de la Vieja An active volcano rises up to 1,895 meters. It is the largest of five volcanoes that make up the Cordillera de Guanacaste. It is composed of nine separate but contiguous volcanic craters. The attractions are protected in the 14,083-hectare Rincón de la Vieja National Park, which extends from 650 to 1,965 meters in elevation

This is an exciting and unique way to experience tropical rainforests. It's estimated that some two-thirds of a typical rainforest's species live in the canopy (the uppermost, branching layer of the forest). From the relative luxury of Aerial Tram's high-tech funicular to the rope-and-climbing-gear rigs of more basic operations, a trip into the canopy will give you a bird's-eye view of the forest.
